Forestry Expertise You Can Rely On

Comprehensive Forestry Qualifications

Our work spans forest management planning, forest operations management, estate planning support, and grant application assistance, the full range a landowner needs from a single, capable source.

Our Landowner Responsibility

As consulting foresters, our responsibility is to look out for our clients’ best interests, in the return on their timber, the health of their forest, and the long-term value of their land.

Consulting Experience

We bring over 10 years of consulting experience to our work, grounded in direct, hands-on management of forestland across a wide range of conditions and ownership goals.

How We Work

Our priority in consulting is to understand your unique situation and goals, then deliver results that serve them well. Clear communication and documentation keeps you informed and confident through the process.

Technical Foundation

Our founding member holds a degree in Forest Engineering from Oregon State University, spanning forestry, forest economics, ethics, and the engineering of roads, harvest systems, and hydrology. That training is the foundation of the consulting forestry we provide to landowners today.

Where We Work

We’re based in southwest Washington with extensive work experience across western Oregon and Washington, and we’re available to assist with forestland management anywhere along the western coast and interior, including Alaska.

What a Consulting Forester Can Do for You

If you own forestland in Oregon or Washington, you’re already a forest manager. Every decision about your land, when to harvest, whether to thin, how to replant, what resources to protect, is a management decision.

You have options in how you handle that work, including hiring service providers to help with tasks like planning, logging, planting, vegetation control, or estate work. Each of those providers does one task. But managing forestland means weighing all of it at once, timber value and market timing, forest health, regulations and taxes, contracts and labor rates, and the long-term future of the land. Only one professional is trained to manage that whole picture the way you have to: a consulting forester.

A consulting forester is hired to help you manage your forestland with a professional’s experience behind every decision, balancing the same goals you care about, whether that’s timber value, forest health, or the long-term future of the property. Our role is to represent your interests and no one else’s, putting our experience, tools, and professional network to work so you reach the outcomes you’re after.

In a timber harvest, working with us puts a landowner in a position of knowledge and strength, negotiating from a solid understanding of what the timber is worth, with contract protections in place and access to a vetted network of log buyers and logging contractors. Our Timber Sales page shows how it works, and why independent studies consistently find that landowners net more from a timber sale with a consulting forester than without one, even after accounting for the fee.
